Magical memory bloat (leak?) over time

  • Type: Performance
  • Version Tested: 1.1r4 (Intel)
  • OS Version Affected: Mac OS X 10.9
  • Status: Open

Description

To keep an eye on my Mac, I leave Activity Monitor open. I notice that over time, Magical jumps in memory usage, sometimes as high as 500MB.

Restarting helps to reset.

Updates

I have the same problem. I'd gladly pay $10 for a version of this app that fixes this memory leak.

I usually only reboot my Mac when it's acting weird; until recently, that meant every week or two, as my Mac would slow to a crawl. I finally tracked the problem to a memory leak in MagiCal, which was actually using several Gigs, on a Mac with only 8Gigs!

I wrote a chron task to kill Magical every morning at 5AM, and then relaunch it. That solves the problem in a way, but it also means I've cluttered up my Mac with yet another task.
