1.2b1: Mouse cursor sometimes not dimmed/hard to find

  • Type: Incorrect Functionality
  • Version Tested: 1.2b1 (Universal)
  • OS Version Affected: Mac OS X 10.4 Intel
  • Status: Open

Description

Some java applications seem to get around shades for their mouse cursor.

E.g. in Zend Studio Neon Beta ( trial download at www.zend.com/en/products/studio/downloads) at 60% brightness on external macbook pro monitor, it's almost impossible to see the insert-caret mouse cursor.

Wonder how they manage to get around the clut table ! (maybe they set some transparency) ?

Updates

Need to add: this also happens when for instance in firefox on built-in monitor, and simply moving cursor to external monitor without any clicks.

My I-beam cursor becomes nearly invisible too in certain programs.

Also happens in Dreamweaver CS4. If shades is used to really dim the screen, the cursor disappears completely.
