White sections overload on fullscreen video

  • Type: Other
  • Version Tested: 1.2 (Intel)
  • OS Version Affected: Mac OS X 10.9
  • Status: Open

Description

When watching a fullscreen video for example in Youtube (or Netflix) with Safari, as soon as the video controls and the cursor get hidden, the white parts of the video get "overloaded". They get these unnatural CGA-style, hard edged structures in flashing bright neon orange, pink and turqoise. It makes the video unwatchable. If I disable Shades, the issue goes away.

The issue only exist with fullscreen video, and only when the mouse cursor is hidden. Have had this issue for a long time, only now figured out the culprit.
