I can't change the order the calendar and date yet. Even not with Cmd+drag.

Using OS 10.5.1 and my just updated MagiCal 1.1a11, I also cannot rearrange the order of the calendar or the time on the menubar when using cmd+drag. I can only rearrange the two MagiCal components, and move them from far left to far right, but cannot slip them amongst my other menubar icons.

Ah, yes, sorry that is not possible. It's a limitation of the way Apple lets third party developers use menu items.
