Full brightness returns when screensaver activated/deactivated

  • Type: Incorrect Functionality
  • Version Tested: 1.2b1 (Intel)
  • OS Version Affected: Mac OS X 10.5 Intel
  • Status: Open

When I kick off my screensaver with a hotspot, there's a flash as Shades allows my screen to return to full brightness before the screensaver kicks in (I'm using one the built-in Flurry). Then, when I wake it up, after the screensaver goes off, my desktop appears in full brightness for a couple of seconds before Shades kicks back in.

It didn't behave this way before the last update. It calls attention to Shades and is very klutzy.

I see this too - The screen 'flashes' when the screensaver kicks in or when certain apps go full screen (can't remember which apps).
Other apps/prefs, such as the much lesser Blackout, do not have this issue (but Blackout keeps the cursor at full brightness, urk)
