MacPro Turns Off when it Should Sleep

  • Type: Other
  • Version Tested: 1.2 (Intel)
  • OS Version Affected: Mac OS X 10.9
  • Status: Open

Description

When put to sleep, my MacPro turns itself off instead. There is no shutdown process; it simply dies, yet does not register any crash reports when rebooted. If Shades is set to be bright upon sleeping/shutting down, it reverts to being dark upon rebooting. Could Shades be causing the computer to shut down? Seems unlikely, but...

Updates

I have this same issue with MacPro3,1. Mine dies when it should sleep, even when booted into a different version of the OS without Shades, so Shades is not the problem. But, same issue upon booting: If set to be bright at shutdown (controlled or not), Shades reverts to dark upon startup.
