date in menu bar stuck on "9"

  • Type: Incorrect Functionality
  • Version Tested: 1.1 (PPC)
  • OS Version Affected: Mac OS X 10.3
  • Status: Closed

Description

The display in the menu bar always shows the numeric date to be "9," no matter what the date is. The day, month and year all advance properly, and the time is correct.

Resolution

Format being used was MM, not DD

Updates

Hi Victoria,

I'm not clear what you mean by "date" if not day year or month? And are you referring to the icon or text version of the date?

Perhaps if you could tell me what settings you are using for the date, it would be clearer what's happening.

I specifically mean the date, as opposed to the day of the week, the month and the year. Today the calendar said Mon 9 Sept 2007 (it was really the 17th!). That 9 does not change!

Can you tell me what format you are using for the date?

Just copy the text out of the date format field in the preferences and paste it into this form.

I've just tested that and it works correctly on my version.

If it's not the latest version you can download the latest here: http://www.charcoaldesign.co.uk/magical

If it is the latest version, please send me a copy of your preferences file, which you can find in your user folder under /Library/Preferences/com.charcoaldesign.magical.plist
