Shades switches to different monitor color profile when Started.

  • Type: Incorrect Functionality
  • Version Tested: 1.2 (Intel)
  • OS Version Affected: Mac OS X 10.9
  • Status: Open

Description

When starting Shades, the whole display color profile changes to something very different, even if the Shades brightness adjustment is at maximum. Stopping Shades restores the correct profile.

Using Shades 1.2 intel on a Mid 2010 MacBook Pro running OSX El Capitan 10.11. The issue might Ehave been caused by upgrading to OSX 10.11 while Shades was running.

Uninstalling and reinstalling Shades did not help.

Updates

Upgrading OSX to 10.11.2 made the issue even worse. Now the color profile that Shades uses is unusable. It is not any of the user selectable profiles. The contrast is harsh, and even midtones display as black.
