The flickering for me is a pulse. Screen brightness goes where I set it for 1 second, back to 100% brightness for ~1sec, back to my setting for ~1sec, back to 100% for ~1sec. If i set it to 100% it's obviously visually fine, but might still be doing whatever the problem is. If i quit flux it works fine.

The flickering happens even with f.lux not running (quit)

Exact same behavior but not with iMac native. Only occurs when using iMac as Target Display (via Mini DisplayPort cable) connected to a MacBookPro.
iMac late 2009, MB Pro mid2011, both Yosemite 10.10. Two sliders show up, one for each display.

Confirm this bug on MacBook Pro Retina 15" Mid 2015, macOS Sierra 10.12.5. / f.lux 39.94.
Flickering happens when f.lux is in effect (night mode as well as darkroom mood) but it doesn't happen when f.lux is not in effect while remaining open.

Same issue here on MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) Sierra, when f.lux is running and doesn't happen when f.lux is closed.
