Black bars below time/date in Leopard

Description
Hello,
As recommended on the front page, I downloaded one version prior (1.1a11) in order to make sure the software would be compatible with Leopard. I've seen some mention of the option for transparency in other bug reports. so I assume this is something that was added in the later version that I don't have. If it's easy, you should also add that option for the version that "works" with Leopard, as I am having to turn off menu bar transparency in order to make MagiCal not stick out like a sore thumb.
Also, as shown here:

there is a thin black line below the time and date in this version.
