Time doesn't auto-update when system time changes via CoreLocation

  • Type: Incorrect Functionality
  • Version Tested: 1.1r2 (Intel)
  • OS Version Affected: Mac OS X 10.6
  • Status: Open

Description

In 10.6 Snow Leopard, if you have CoreLocation enabled for time zones (via System Preferences -> Date & Time -> Time Zone -> "Set time zone automatically using current location") and if the system detects a time zone change and updates the system time, Magical won't update its time.

Some steps to reproduce, though these may be non-trivial if you're not nearby a time zone border:
1. Enable the "Set time zone automatically using current location" setting.
2. Launch Magical.
3. Go to another location in another time zone.

Expected result: Magical shows the time for the new time zone.
Observed result: Magical shows the time for the previous time zone.

(FWIW, if one exits and restarts Magical at this point, it does end up showing the correct/updated system time.)
