Shades and Expose

  • Type: Incorrect Functionality
  • Status: Fixed in version 1.2b1

Description

Shades does not seem to apply when I use Expos--for instance, F11 Expos Desktop shows me my desktop at my 20" iMac's non-Shaded brightness (because Expos pushes aside all applications, including Shades?). Is there a way around this? I simply cannot stand my brand new iMac's idea of minimum brightness at night. It would be a shame to have to train myself not to use Expos except in daylight, but I guess that's what I'll be doing. Yay, Apple, keeping all the 'brighter, brighter, brighter!' fanboys happy. :-|

Great app, BTW. I launched it and breathed a sigh of relief. Thanks.

Updates

This is a known issue - as you guessed, the problem is that expose moves the shades overlay out of the way along with all the other windows.

I will hopefully be including a workaround for this in the next release.

I'd like this feature too... so when is coming the next release?

I'm working on it now. It's too early to give a release date yet, but probably within a few weeks.

Shades 1.2b1 is now out, and is fully compatible with Expose.
