Hi Dave, that sounds pretty bad. A few questions:

1) Is this the first time you've tried MagiCal, or have previous version worked correctly for you?

2) Does this happen every time you access the preferences, or was it just the one time?

3) Not a question but a request - would you mind sending me a copy of your preferences? The file is in your user folder under library/preferences/com.charcoaldesign.magical.plist. Please send it as an attachment to the address of the notification email you will have received.

4) If there is anything relating to magical in your system logs (launch to view them) then please send that too.

Hopfully we can get to the bottom of this ASAP.

update: I killed the process (didn't log out) and moved the file directly into Applications from its previous location in my "apps under review" staging directory. relaunched and haven't had the problem since, accessing the preferences is now fine.

Hi Ellie,

Is your "apps under review" folder on a different drive to your user folder? It shouldn't be necessary for MagiCal to reside in your Applications folder, but it might conceivably cause problems if it is located on a different drive to the users directory, as it may not be able to find the preferences folder.
