VMWare stops refreshing VM screens when shades is running

Description
It seems that Vmware Fusion 3.1.1 (and maybe earlier) is negatively effected by Shades.
When both are running and I'm running a Windows VM in a window VMWare seems to not refresh anymore at times, only switching to fullscreen and back to windowed mode seems to help it. OR shutting down shades.
Unfortunately I began using Shades right around the time when I updated VMWare Fusion to 3.1.1 so I don't know for sure whether earlier versions of VMWare are affected as well
